Dealing With a Withered Situation 04/08/08

 Mr 3:1 “And He entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.”

Jesus met a man who had a withered hand. The normal function of this man’s hand was inhibited. It may be that when he tried to reach for certain things his handicap inconvenienced him.

Many of us have goals and dreams that we are reaching for but sometimes we are hindered by withered situations. Every time we try to reach out to accomplish something we are reminded of the withered state of our finances and resources. We may even try to start a business but the moment we reach out we are impaired by a withered marital relationship or health to the degree where we feel like giving up.  

But Jesus – thank God for Jesus; Jesus said to him “stretch forth thine hands.” Jesus was asking this man to do something that he couldn’t do naturally.

 There is victory in stretching forth our hands. There is a breakthrough when we reach out with our hands. This is why it is important that we lift our hands and give God praise. In stretching forth our hands in praise God will give us the breakthrough!  

You ought to take a few moments and stretch forth your hands in praise unto God. As you lift your hands let the devil know that his restrictions have been removed by God and you are victorious.

At this point the man could have resisted and refused to do as Jesus asked but instead he obeyed the word of God and stretched out his hands and they were made whole.

 The reason why you are going to be successful this time is because you have the backing of the word of God. In our own strength we may not be able to reach out but when we act upon the word of God that declares ‘all things are possible with God’ we are going to be blessed! As you walk in the integrity of God’s word, as you exercise faith in the word, God will release His promises into your life.

 If you can accumulate the strength to obey the word of God and keep on reaching out to fulfill the plan of God in spite of what folks may say, in spite of the lack of resources, you are going to be successful.
