Breaking the Status Quo: A Call to Rise Higher

It’s easy to accept the status quo.“It’s always been this way.”“Let someone else take the lead.”“Why stir the waters?”

These are phrases we often hear—and sometimes say ourselves. But comfort and routine can quietly become chains that keep us from growth. While stability can feel safe, God never called us to a stagnant life—He called us to a transformed one.
Remaining in the same place spiritually, emotionally, or relationally may feel easier, but it isn’t where God wants us to stay. Sometimes we avoid change because we fear conflict, uncertainty, or the discomfort of stretching ourselves. But change is often the very thing God uses to take us from where we are to where we’re called to be.
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."— Romans 12:2 (NIV)
God calls us not to conform—but to be transformed. That requires intentional action. It means being willing to break free from what's comfortable and step into God’s greater purpose.
Think of Abraham—called to leave his familiar land.Think of Moses—tasked to confront Pharaoh and lead a people out of slavery.Think of Jesus—who challenged the religious norms and brought life-giving truth.
They all broke the status quo. And through their obedience, lives were changed.
It’s Time to Shift the Atmosphere
At Forgiveness Assembly Church, we believe that God is doing a new thing—not just in our church, but in our individual lives. Don’t settle for what has always been. Ask God to reveal what needs to shift in your life. It may be your mindset, your prayer life, your relationships, or even your purpose. Whatever it is, He will give you the courage to step forward.
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?"— Isaiah 43:19a (NIV)
Let today be the day you challenge the status quo—not for the sake of rebellion, but for the sake of revival.
