Stop Managing the Symptoms — Start Addressing the Root

ree

Sometimes in life, we find ourselves busy patching cracks instead of repairing the foundation. We rearrange our schedule to avoid certain people, we distract ourselves when the anxiety rises, or we pour all our energy into making things lookfine on the surface — while underneath, the real issue is quietly growing.

Why?Because it’s easier to circumvent the discomfort than to face it head-on. It’s easier to pacify the situation than to dig deep into the root cause. But here’s the truth: God doesn’t just want to soothe your pain temporarily. He wants to heal it completely.

Jesus didn’t come to earth to hand out band-aids. He came to set captives free, break chains, and restore what was lost. That means sometimes He’ll gently nudge you toward the very thing you’ve been avoiding — not to hurt you, but to heal you.

Think about the woman at the well in John 4. She wanted to talk about water and worship locations. Jesus wanted to talk about her heart. He lovingly went straight to the core issue, because only then could she be truly free.

If we keep circling around the problem, we’ll stay in the same place year after year. But when we say, “Lord, I’m ready to face this with You,” something shifts. His truth replaces the lies, His peace replaces the fear, and His power strengthens us to walk forward.

Encouragement for Today: Don’t settle for temporary relief. Invite God to deal with the root. It may feel uncomfortable at first, but the freedom on the other side is worth every step.

"You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." – John 8:32
