Dealing with someone caught in addiction, especially when they don’t seem to care or recognize the damage, is deeply painful and challenging. But even in the darkest moments, God is still at work, and your desire to help and pray is powerful.
Addiction may seem like it has taken over, but it is not greater than the power of God. Even when a person seems lost or unbothered by their condition, God still sees them, knows them, and loves them. And your prayers are not in vain.
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18
When it feels like there’s no breakthrough, keep praying. Keep speaking life over them. Even when they push away love, God's grace can still reach them in ways you can’t. Your faith, your patience, and your love may be the very vessel God uses to lead them to freedom.

Pray this:
“Lord, I lift up this person to You. You see the chains that bind them, and You hold the key to their freedom. Even when they can’t see clearly, I believe You are still reaching for them. Soften their heart. Protect them from harm. Send the right people into their life to speak truth and love. Help me be a vessel of Your light — not with judgment, but with compassion and strength. Give me endurance when I feel like giving up. I trust You to do what only You can do. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Encouragement to Share with Them (if possible):
"No matter how far you feel you've gone, God hasn't given up on you. There is still hope for your life. You were created with purpose and love. I may not understand everything you're feeling, but I care. I’m praying for you — not to control you, but because I believe your life still matters deeply. You’re not alone."
Even if they don’t seem to care now, seeds are being planted — through your love, your words, and especially your prayers. God specializes in resurrection — even when things look dead, He can bring life again.
